Eastland is the Eastland County seat, out I-20 west of Weatherford past Ranger. It's cattle and mesquite country, with Lake Leon just south of town. This far out we stick to fence work and plan the trip around it: pipe fence, pipe top rail, high fence, water gaps, ranch gates, and repair.
Building around Eastland
Past Ranger the Cross Timbers thin out into rolling pasture and mesquite, with oak along the creeks. Places tend to be bigger than in Parker County, and plenty of them carry cattle. Fence lines are long, and the corners carry them. On a long stretch of wire, the corner and brace posts hold the whole load, so that's where we put the most care.
A job this far out gets planned around building the line. We walk it with you first, or start from photos and a map pin you send through the quote form, then come back to build. A long perimeter fits pipe top rail over wire well: pipe posts, one welded rail across the top, and wire below to hold cattle.
Around Lake Leon and along the county roads, there are weekend places and smaller tracts too, with a house, a barn, and a few head. A place like that often calls for pipe across the front and a solid entry gate, with the rest left as it is.
Repair matters out here. A lot of Eastland County fence went up a long time ago, and it fails at the corners first: rotted brace posts, wire pulled loose, a gate tied shut with baling twine. Sometimes fixing the corners and hanging a gate that swings again is all a line needs to keep holding cattle.
What we build in Eastland
- Pipe fence
On a weekend place near Lake Leon, pipe fence across just the front makes the place look kept from the county road.
- Pipe top rail over wire
Long Eastland County perimeters suit pipe top rail over wire. The welded rail keeps the line from sagging between braces.
- Ranch gates & openers
A ranch gate out here has to clear a gooseneck and a hay trailer. We size the opening for what really comes through it.
- Fence repair & rebuilds
Old fence around Eastland gives out at the corners first, so a repair starts with resetting the braces.
- Water gaps
Creeks headed for Lake Leon cut across plenty of pasture lines. A water gap holds cattle at the crossing and gives way to floodwater so the rest of the fence doesn't have to.

Permits and rules
We haven't looked up Eastland's city rules or Eastland County's for this page. In town, check with the city. Out in the county, check with the county. We'll build to what they tell you.
Eastland questions
Do you really come out to Eastland?
Yes. Our area runs from Fort Worth west to Abilene, and Eastland sits on I-20 right in the middle. We plan the trip so the day goes to building, not driving.
Can you rebuild a run of old fence near Lake Leon?
Send photos and ask. We'll look at what's there and tell you whether a repair will hold or a rebuild in pipe top rail makes more sense.
How wide should a ranch gate be for a gooseneck near Eastland?
Start with the widest thing that comes through: the trailer, the hay truck, or the tractor with a shredder on it. Then leave room to swing in off the county road without cutting the corner. We size the ranch gate for that and set the hinge post to carry the weight.
